Pre-College and Summer Programs for Girls

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Conference
7th and 8th Grade Girls
EYH is a one-day conference held annually for approximately 500 7-8th grade girls from all over Missouri. Students meet and enjoy a personal testimony from an expert -- such as an astronaut, participate in hands-on activities, and interact with current Missouri S&T students, faculty, staff, and practicing engineers and scientists. Missouri S&T sends registration materials inviting middle schools to bring groups of up to 24 girls. However, independent registrations are also welcome and accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

"It's a Girls Thing" Summer Camp
7th and 8th Grade Girls
This week long middle-school program is designed to provide a fun and introductory engineering and science experience to girls entering 7th and 8th grades.  The students will be exposed to the various STEM career fields and encouraged to explore their personal interests through group projects and design oriented competitions.

Summer Solutions Camp
9th and 10th Grade Girls
This live-in week long camp is designed to give girls who will be in the 9th or 10th grade the experience of college life while learning more about career options in science, engineering, and math. Students will meet college students and professors, participate in hands-on activities and team projects, and gain a better understanding of "what engineers and scientists really do and how!"

EcoGirl Summer Camp
11th and 12th Grade Girls
This live-in week long camp will give you an opportunity to explore career options that help society while protecting the environment. Attendees live together in a residential hall, meet current female student leaders and professors, participate in team projects and field trips, and explore the science and engineering behind a green environment.

Girls "Lock-In" Conference
11th and 12th Grade Girls
S&T's Women's Program and Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student organization co-sponsor a Fall and Spring Lock-In Conference for female high school juniors and seniors and prospective transfer students who would like to learn more about studying science, engineering, or math at Missouri S&T. This conference will allow students to visit the campus, learn about the admission and financial assistance process, participate in team projects, meet other girls who are prospective or current students, stay the night on campus, and have fun!
